Sophisticated and unique French cuisine found only in Kyoto
“Tatsuki,” located near Ginkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto, is a French restaurant whose concept is to “serve dishes that leave you with a lasting impression” which expresses the unique sensitivity of chef Fujiwara Tatsuki.
Chef Fujiwara trained at “Restaurant Okumura,” “Sanyukyo,” “L’Hotel de Hiei,” and “La Cachette (Valence, France)” and became independent in 2011. The menu continues to evolve as chef Fujiwara adopts new methods whilst maintaining his own bold style, attracting many guests.

The course focuses on the key ingredients of each dish. It consists of 10 dishes made with seasonal ingredients, such as Tamba beef and organic vegetables from Ohara, the quality of which Fujiwara has confirmed by sight and taste from meeting with the producers directly. In addition to the simple dishes, the course also features the “Nigiri Sushi,” which is rare in French cuisine. For vinegared rice, the blend of red vinegar and rice vinegar is adjusted to match the sushi toppings of the day, based on Edomae-style sushi, with different ingredients being used, such as saury, octopus and flounder. You can enjoy dishes simply with salt, lightly kneaded flounder with kelp, or combine tapenade with tuna. It is also interesting to note that the main meat dish comes with rice and chirimen sansho pepper.

The simple and clean interior has only 3 tables in a spacious setting. This is a restaurant spending quality time with special people.
