紫海膽 – 是日本最主要的海膽之一。 生產區位於青森縣南部的日本海一側及茨城縣以南的太平洋一側。味道會比赤海膽較淡但海水味會較濃。

Purple sea urchin – is one of the most important sea urchins in Japan. The production area is located on the Sea of Japan side in the south of Aomori Prefecture and the Pacific side in the south of Ibaraki Prefecture. The taste will be lighter than the red sea urchin, but the seawater taste will be stronger.
